The reclaimed timbers include some extremely rare species, many of which are protected from land-based extraction today. They include 6 key species in immense quantities such as: Grand Cashew (Blonde Mahogany), Espave, Zapatero (Walnut of Panama), Dragon Wood, Cedro Espino, Amargo Amargo (Burmese Teak alternative). Timber supplies are available as unfinished kiln dried planks and beams, engineered flooring or sanded and finished slabs, mantles, shelves, tables, benches, stumps and decorative pieces.

Description: Resistant to fungi attackand it does not need to be preserved. It's an extremely heavy. Difficult to saw due to it's hardness, slow drying.

Amargo Amargo

Vatairea Erythrocarpa

Wood color: shiny yello when recently cut and turns brown orange when exposed to air. 

Description: Very heavy wood, good to work with. Its has good durability and is resistant to fungi. Carpintery and construction in general, used for train tracks, floors, panels, wood veneer and furniture.

Amarillo Guayaquil

Centrolobium yavizanum

 

Wood ColorThe sapwood (alburnum) is creamish white to pale yellow. Duramen is yellow to orange-red in color and can reach light brown tonalities. The heartwood can present appealing streaking or “rainbow” hues.

Description:Centrolobium yavizanum - It's a very heavy wood but easy to work with. Drying is moderately difficult, but it doesnot present defects in the process. Resistant to fungi and insects. Used in Heavy constructions, train tracks, fine furniture, cabinetmaking, flooring, boat components, decorative veneere and tool handles.

Bálsamo - Balsam

Myroxylon Balsamun

Wood Color: reddish brown becoming deep red or somewhat purplish upon exposure, with an abrupt contrast of colors between both layers.

Description: Heavy Wood used in furniture, flooring, interior trim, parquet, railway sleepers, fences, crossbeams, heavy construction, marine piles, tool handles and sports gear.

Wood Color:  Pale yellow in color without a noticeable contrast between layers.

Description: Wood is used for structural items such as beams, columns, roof trusses, stair cases, parquet, floors, deck plates, plywood, veneers, tool handles, as well as for carpentry, furniture and cabinet- making.

Wood Color: Pale pinkish or pinkish brown when freshly cut, becoming light to dark reddish brown

Description: Bombacopsis quinata - light and stable wood, easy to saw, brush, turn, and to sand. Resistant to rotting. Used in construction, furniture, cabinets, wood veneer, window and door molds.

Wood color: The sapwood (alburnum) is a yellowish cream color and the heartwood (duramen) is light to dark salmon with slightly prominent vascular lines.

Descrption: Heavy wood used for heavy construction, ship keels and beams, railroad crossties, industrial flooring, uses requiring high impact resistance (wagon wheels, tool handles), and turnery.

Guayacan - Ipe

Tabebuia guayacan   

 

Color: The sapwood (alburnum) is a grayish cream showing a sharp demarcation from the heartwood (duramen), which is olive brown to blackish with darker lines.

 

Description: Extremely heavy wood frequently used for heavy construction, industrial flooring, railway ties, furniture, carpentry, cabinet making, turnery, decorative veneers, tool handles and sporting equipment.

Nispero - Bullet wood

Wood Color: Light to dark reddish brown

Description: very hard, heavy and strong wood, extraordinarily resistant to termites, humidity and rotting. Used in the construction of structures, boat keels, turning, musical instruments, fence posts, agricultural implements, train tracks, flooring, marine and bridge construction.

Platymiscium pinnatum

Wood color: reddish brown becoming deep red or somewhat purplish upon exposure, with an abrupt contrast of colors between both layers. 

Description: The quira is prized for its fine wood that is hard and heavy, used for furniture, musical instruments.


Zapatero - Central American Walnut

Hyeronima Alchorneoides

Wood Color: reddish brown, deep brown or dark red. It is similar to black walnut in appearance.

Description: This timber is frequently used for general heavy construction (interior and exterior), marine pilings, boat construction, structures for bridges and roofs, industrial flooring, railway ties, furniture, carpentry, and decorative veneer.

Zorro - Zebrawood

Astronium graveloens

Wood Color: reddish brown with multiple tonalities and very prominent, and irregular stripes that are nearly black in color. 

Description: The wood is one of the most outstanding heavy and durable construction timbers, also highly prized for fine furniture, cabinetmaking and decorative veneers. Other uses include industrial flooring, railway sleepers, knife handles, archery bows, billiard cues, turnery, and carving.
